Mrs. Carpenter's Second Grade

Aspire to Inspire

Second Graders are at an amazing age. Boy and Girls have gained the ability to read and become more independent both academically and socially. This year we will work together and help each other grow as learners.

I spent my childhood cutting out letters, sorting books, and generally helping my mother and father with whatever needed to be done in their classrooms. My parents valued education, but most of all they valued the students entrusted to them, so I knew from a very early age that I wanted to follow their example and become a teacher. After graduating and getting married, I enjoyed several years of just being "Mommy" staying home with my son and daughter. In the fall of 2000, I began teaching full time. After my fifth year of teaching, I joined the teaching staff at Wallace A. Smith Elementary in 2005. My experience in the classroom over these past years has only confirmed and increased my desire to find innovative ways to successfully engage all children and encourage each one to become lifelong learners and thinkers.
