Principal Appreciation Month: Jill Hall: Daisy Elementary

October 30,  2026 – When Jill Hall walks into a classroom at Daisy Elementary, she gets to see some of her favorite moments in education: a student who has been struggling finally understands something new, a child discovers a talent they didn’t know they had, or a teacher finds a new way to bring learning to life.

“The magic just seems to happen in the classroom,” Hall said.

After 20 years at Daisy Elementary, Hall still finds joy in those everyday moments. She began her career at the school as a teacher, later serving as a teacher on special assignment and assistant principal before becoming principal. Through each role, her purpose has remained the same: making a difference in the lives of children.

“I wanted to be that person that made a difference,” Hall said, reflecting on what first drew her to education.

“To make more of an impact, I could do that as a principal and not only inspire children, but also support and inspire teachers.”

That commitment shows up in the small things, too. Whether offering a high-five, encouraging a student through a difficult day or making time to visit classrooms, Hall wants students to know they can trust her.

“I want them to know they can trust me,” she said. “I want this to be a safe space.”

Hall also believes that a strong school starts with the people who make it a community. Daisy Elementary has earned a Level 5 rating, Reward School recognition and an A on its report card. While she is proud of those accomplishments, she is quick to point to the staff behind them.

“We couldn’t do those things if we didn’t work together as a team,” Hall said. “It’s not one person in this building that gets test scores. It’s all of us working together to help our students be successful.”

Some of her most meaningful moments come when she gets to see the long-term impact of that work. One of Hall’s favorite memories as principal was hiring a former second-grade student who had grown up to become an educator herself.

“It’s very rewarding to watch her grow as a child,” Hall said. “Getting to watch her grow as a teacher and educator is really special and rewarding.”

After 20 years at Daisy Elementary, Hall’s reason for coming to work each day hasn’t changed. She wants students to believe in themselves, even when life gets difficult.

“I always remind children it’s not their circumstances in the moment. It’s about having the courage to keep going and keep trying,” Hall said.

That message reflects the reason she continues to do this work, year after year.

“Honestly, my why is for the kids,” Hall said.
